BIO.
Christopher Rashaad was born in Cleveland, OH. However, he frequently moved, spending some of his childhood in Columbus, OH; Cincinnati, OH; and Kentucky. At the age of 5, Rashaad developed his love for music. Some of his earliest memories are of him rapping songs from Lil Wayne.
By the age of 11, Rashaad was faced with hardships no child should have to endure. He ended up experiencing first hand what poverty was. For two years he was in and out of homeless shelters and lived in a 2001 Kia Sportage with his mother and 2 siblings. This experience was integral in his development as an artist. As a listener, you will hear him reference poverty, misfortune, and having a goal to bring generational wealth to his family. Rashaad continues to this day to use music as an outlet to help him express himself and find peace when the world around him feels uncertain.
Although, Rashaad credits Lil Wayne as being the first person who influenced his love for rap. He has since been inspired by the following artists: Nas, The Game, J. Cole, and Jay-Z. Rashaad’s music style currently embodies old school hip-hop, trap bass, and jazz instruments to set a cool but exciting vibe. Rashaad also focuses on creating witty word associations with his lyrics. This encourages his audience to see a picture of what he’s referencing in their minds and allows his message to be relatable.
